A Ghanaian national evacuated from South Africa died shortly after arriving at Accra International Airport. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the individual was among 50 Ghanaians who landed on an Air Tanzania flight at 5:50 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026.
The passenger's health began to deteriorate approximately 30 minutes before the aircraft landed. A medical emergency team at the airport provided immediate assistance upon arrival in an effort to stabilize the condition.
Despite all efforts, doctors confirmed the death at 6:55 p.m. The Ministry stated it is undertaking necessary formalities to inform the deceased's family.
